Research Focus
Michael A. Walters heads the Lead and Probe Discovery Core in the Institute for Therapeutics Discovery and Development (ITDD). Using advanced methods of cheminformatics, he and his team can analyze the activity of compounds against biological targets. Using this analysis, they can design and prepare new, improved compounds--based on the principles of medicinal chemistry--that might have an impact on diseases like cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and Alzheimer’s.
