Research Focus
Improving the quality of neurosurgical care for the citizens of Minnesota, North America, and the world is the main goal of Stephen Haines’ research. Haines focuses on applying advanced clinical research techniques to neurosurgical illness and intervention through the development of resources for the evidence-based practice of neurosurgery. Important assessments of the value of operations to prevent stroke, treat brain tumors, minimally invasive treatment of ruptured discs and recent validation of long established but unproven treatments for brain hemorrhage have been the focus of his work.
